Morocco unveils $2.8 billion plan to double airport capacity by 2030

Morocco will invest 28 billion dirhams ($2.8 billion) to boost annual airport capacity to 80 million passengers by 2030, Transport Minister Abdessamad Kayouh said on Monday. The plan includes a new Casablanca airport on 800 hectares, handling 40 million passengers and serving long-haul flights. It will link to high-speed rail, enabling 50-minute trips to Marrakech. Rabat, Fez, and Tangier airports will also expand. The move supports Royal Air Maroc’s goal to double its fleet to 100 planes.
