Official: Spain spared various terrorist attacks due to input by Morocco’s DGST

The newly appointed Commissioner General of Spain’s Intelligence, Javier Antonio Susin Bercero, chose his first official overseas meeting to be held in Morocco with DGST Chief Abdellatif Hammouchi It highlights a growing relationship between the two security forces with Bercero acknowledging that Spain has been spared several terrorist attacks due to the intervention and intelligence provided by Security and Territorial Surveillance ((DGST). Hammouchi and his Spanish counterpart held intensive talks on the assessment of terrorist risks across the region, especially in the Sahel and Sahara. The press release went on to say that they also discussed the enhancement and reinforcement of joint operations to combat terrorism and violent extremism.
