Oman Backs Morocco's Western Sahara Plan, Signs Bilateral Deals

Oman has endorsed Morocco’s autonomy plan for Western Sahara, joining over 100 countries supporting Rabat’s proposal, the two nations said in a joint statement after talks in Rabat. Oman also pledged to open a consulate in Dakhla or Laayoune, following other Arab states. The meeting yielded agreements on energy, mining, and transport, with Morocco urging Omani investment. The move strengthens Morocco’s diplomatic momentum on Western Sahara after recent U.S. and French backing.
