Qatar pledges $7.5bn investment for Egypt

Qatar and Egypt announced plans for a $7.5 billion package of direct Qatari investment in Egypt, according to a joint statement issued during President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s visit to Doha, Reuters reported. The two governments said the initiative aims to strengthen economic cooperation and will be implemented in the “next phase” of their bilateral partnership.
