Egypt to join new AU peacekeeping force in Somalia
Egypt's foreign minister has said that his country will take part in a new African Union peacekeeping force
According to reporting by BulgarianMilitary.com, during the “Deterrence 2024” military exercise, the Egyptian Armed Forces revealed their possession of the Russian-made Kh-31 air-to-surface missile. The Kh-31 is a high-speed, versatile missile designed primarily for air-to-ground and anti-ship roles and has been integrated into Egypt’s fleet of MiG-29 fighter jets. The acquisition of the Kh-31 missile highlights a growing defense cooperation between Egypt and Russia. Over the years, Egypt has strengthened its military ties with Russia, relying on Russian arms supplies, including fighter jets, helicopters, and advanced missile systems.
