Russian Ambassador to Egypt, Georgy Borisenko, highlighted the strong partnership between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the conference "BRICS: Prospects for Economic and Cultural Cooperation" in Cairo, Egypt Todayreports.

Borisenko emphasized BRICS' growing global influence and Russia's leadership in expanding multilateral collaboration within the bloc. He noted Egypt’s active participation, with over 12 governmental delegations visiting Russia this year, and highlighted joint efforts in political, economic, and cultural initiatives.

The ambassador stressed BRICS' push for financial cooperation independent of the US dollar, citing Western sanctions as a driver for alternatives. Egypt’s BRICS membership, he added, opens opportunities for projects while advancing the bloc’s goal of a multipolar global order.

Held at the Russian Cultural Center and organized by the Dialogue Foundation, the conference underscored BRICS’ role in addressing global challenges and fostering economic and cultural cooperation. Discussions also touched on expanding BRICS membership, with Algeria among the candidates.
