Egypt to join new AU peacekeeping force in Somalia
Egypt's foreign minister has said that his country will take part in a new African Union peacekeeping force
Mohamed Salah helped Egypt secure a 2-0 win over Mauritania, maintaining their perfect record in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to Reuters. Salah added to Trezeguet’s opener as Egypt broke through the Mauritania defense after 70 minutes, moving six points clear at the top of Group C.
Tunisia, meanwhile, suffered a surprising 1-0 home defeat to Comoros, despite dominating with 15 goal attempts. Rafiki Said’s strike sealed Tunisia’s first home loss in Cup of Nations qualifiers since 2010, though they remain top of Group A with six points, just ahead of Comoros with five.
In other results, Senegal cruised to a 4-0 win over Malawi, with Sadio Mane and Nicolas Jackson scoring. Burkina Faso share the top spot with Senegal on seven points. Libya narrowly lost 1-0 to Nigeria, while Mali earned a comfortable 3-1 victory over Benin, strengthening their position in the qualifiers.
