Devastating floods in Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria, and Sudan were intensified by human-caused climate change, international scientists reported Wednesday. The World Weather Attribution (WWA) team found global warming increased the severity of this year's seasonal rains by 5-20% across the Niger and Lake Chad basins. The study warned that if warming persists, such extreme rainfall events could become an annual occurrence, highlighting the growing impact of climate change on weather patterns in the region.
