The confrontation involved Ethiopian troops allegedly defending local politicians against Somali forces in Doolow. Somalia condemned the actions of Ethiopian forces, while Ethiopia denied wrongdoing, citing unnamed third parties aiming to destabilize the Horn of Africa.
