According to Israeli officials speaking to the American news website Axios, Israeli officials are considering an Egyptian proposal for a small-scale hostage and ceasefire deal with Hamas aimed at building momentum for a larger deal. It comes as of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel renewed diplomatic efforts. It comes after the new director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Hassan Rashad spoke for the first time with Shin Bet director Ronen Bar. The Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anominity, said the director of the Shin Bet presented the Egyptians' idea to Israel's Security Cabinet at a meeting on Sunday night when he returned from Cairo.
