Africa Intelligence is reporting that global satellite internet provider Starlink, owned by Elon Musk, is in discussions with Morocco to launch high-speed internet across Western Sahara. According to the report, discussions between Morocco and Starlink began in the summer of 2024, when Musk first reached out to Moroccan officials. Starlink’s satellite-based services are viewed as suitable for Morocco’s southern provinces due to the vastness of the region and the challenges of extending wired internet services.
