Tunisian President Kais Saied has scheduled a presidential election for October 6, positioning himself for potential re-election despite many of his political opponents being imprisoned.
In an official decree issued Monday, Saied announced the election date but did not confirm whether he would run again. However, it is widely anticipated that he will seek another five-year term.
