Tunisia steps back from Algeria's 'New Maghreb' initiative

Tunisia is distancing itself from Algeria's controversial "new Maghreb bloc" project, which aims to create an alternative regional organization amid the Arab Maghreb Union's ongoing challenges. Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar emphasized this stance in an interview with Assabah News, stating that Tunisia's tripartite meetings with Libya and Algeria are merely "consultative."

Ammar clarified that these consultations are not intended as a substitute for the Arab Maghreb Union.
