Tunisians rally against erosion of civil liberties
Protesters gather with Tunisian and Palestinian flags during a rally marking the 14th anniversary of the 2011 Tunisian Revolution and calling for the release of political detainees along Tunis' central Habib Bourguiba Avenue on January 14, 2025.

In Tunis, hundreds marked the 14th anniversary of Tunisia's 2011 revolution by protesting against perceived erosions of freedom. Organized by the Tunisian Network for Rights and Freedoms, demonstrators from various leftist and liberal groups gathered on Habib Bourguiba Avenue, chanting for freedom and dignity, reminiscent of the slogans from the uprising that ousted former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
