Twenty migrants were reported missing off Italy's Lampedusa coast following a shipwreck, Italian media said Tuesday. The vessel, originating from Libya, carried survivors from Syria, Sudan, and Egypt. Rescue operations recovered seven survivors, including an eight-year-old Syrian child. Search efforts involving the coast guard and police continued for the missing, among them five women and three children. Lampedusa's Mayor, Filippo Mannino, noted the victims "didn't manage to touch the ground”.
