The United Arab Emirates has pledged not to supply arms to paramilitaries in Sudan's ongoing civil war, according to US lawmakers citing White House officials on Thursday. This commitment led lawmakers to withdraw their attempt to block a $1.2 billion US arms deal involving advanced rockets and long-range missiles destined for the UAE. Concurrently, the US announced an additional $200 million in humanitarian aid to Sudan, addressing the severe crisis that has claimed tens of thousands of lives since April 2023.
