UAE-made armored personnel carriers (APCs) equipped with French defense systems have been seized by Sudanese forces, Amnesty International reported Thursday. The APCs, linked to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Darfur and other areas, likely violate a UN arms embargo prohibiting arms transfers to Sudan. The rights group highlighted their use in clashes with Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) during the ongoing civil war, raising concerns over international compliance with arms restrictions.
