UN allocates $3 million to aid Malian refugees in Mauritania

The UN has allocated $3 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund to aid Malian refugees in Mauritania, UN Acting Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya announced. The funds will support over 100,000 refugees and host communities in the Hodh Chargui region, providing vital health and nutrition assistance. As of July, the area housed more than 260,000 displaced people, straining local services. Mauritania has hosted Malian refugees since 2013.
