BP begins LNG exports from Senegal-Mauritania gas project
BP has loaded its first LNG export cargo from Phase 1 of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project offshore Mauritania
The new UN envoy to Libya, Hannah Tetteh, warned the Security Council on Thursday of the country's volatile security situation, citing rival factions vying for control and rising hate speech. She said political divisions persist due to competition over oil resources, while fragmented institutions and budget disputes worsen economic instability, including inflation and currency depreciation. Though a 2020 ceasefire holds, armed mobilizations near Tripoli raise fears of renewed violence. Libya has been in turmoil since Moammar Gadhafi's 2011 ouster.
