The UN and a doctor’s group, speaking to the Associated Press, have reported that fighters from the Rapid Support Forces went on a multi-day killing spree across villages and towns on the eastern and northern sides of the province of Gezira. More than 120 people were killed in one town, as the RSF were seen shooting indiscriminately at civilians and sexually attacking women and girls, while looting private and public properties, including open markets. According to Sunday’s data from the International Organization for Migration’s Tracking Matrix, this attack alone, displaced more than 46,500 people in the city of Tamboul and other villages in eastern and northern Gezira last week.
