The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reports that 3.2 million children under five in Sudan are at risk of acute malnutrition due to ongoing conflict. Approximately 772,000 of these children are expected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition, says Eva Hinds, UNICEF Sudan's Head of Advocacy and Communication. Sudan, plagued by 20 months of war between the army and Rapid Support Forces, faces famine in five regions, with millions displaced in the largest global crisis of its kind.
