Syrians in Egypt fear they will be forced to return after changes to refugee laws
Hundreds of thousands of Syrians who fled to Egypt during the civil war are now facing growing uncertainty following the
Egypt’s Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with his Arab counterparts during the 41st session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in the Tunis capital Monday, according to Egyptian media.
He held discussions with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Tunisia, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar, Jordan, as well as with the president of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
The meetings focused on improving mechanisms for security cooperation in the wake of challenges stemming from current global political and economic conditions.
