Tunisia is facing a deepening water shortage as demand outstrips supply, according to a report by Tunis Afrique Presse. Chawki Ben Mansour, central director of the National Company of Water Exploitation and Distribution (SONEDE), noted that water levels in Tunisian dams have dropped to record lows across several regions, with current reserves at around 720 million cubic meters—200 million cubic meters less than last year at this time.
