Algerian army chief General Saïd Chengriha visited Mauritania from October 15-17, delivering a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. Chengriha also met with Defense Minister Hanena Ould Sidi and army chief General Mokhtar Bella Chaabane. A joint statement emphasized boosting military cooperation, particularly against violent extremism and organized crime in the Sahel.
