South Sudan will restart crude oil exports through Sudan's port in the coming days after repairs to a key pipeline damaged during fighting, a South Sudanese official told Reuters Thursday. The conflict between Sudan's army (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which began in April last year, displaced millions and triggered famine. Oil exports, transported via Sudan, are crucial to South Sudan's economy, accounting for 90% of its foreign earnings, with Sudan receiving transit fees.
