Five alleged people traffickers from Algeria and Egypt have been charged in a UK-France smuggling investigation. National Crime Agency officers arrested the men during raids across London on Wednesday.
Among the accused is Madjid Belabes, 52, an alleged senior figure in the smuggling network. Others charged include Said Bouazza, 54, Mourad Bouchlagehem, 45, Mohammed Mabrouk, 44, and Samir Zerguine, 51. All face conspiracy charges for aiding illegal entry into the EU.
