US announces $203 million in new aid to war-torn Sudan

The US ambassador to the UN announced nearly $203 million in additional humanitarian assistance to Sudan onThursday but warned that the money is not a “panacea” and urged other countries to fulfill their financial pledges to address what she called “the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.”

Thomas-Greenfield told reporters at the UN, the contribution raises total US humanitarian assistance to Sudan to $1.6billion since September 2023, making the US Sudan’s largest single donor.
