US boosts Sudan aid amid growing hunger crisis

The United States has announced an additional $200 million in humanitarian aid for Sudan, raising its total commitment to $2.3 billion, Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed on Thursday. Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting, Blinken emphasized the intensive efforts by the US and its partners to mitigate Sudan's humanitarian disaster. The World Food Programme also issued a stark warning, noting that Sudan is on the brink of becoming the world's largest hunger crisis, with 1.7 million people at or near famine levels.
