The Pentagon has released Ridah Bin Saleh al-Yazidi, one of Guantanamo Bay’s longest-held detainees, to Tunisia, officials confirmed Monday night. Al-Yazidi, detained without charge since January 2002, became known from a widely recognized photograph at Camp X-Ray. His release is part of several recent transfers, including three detainees to Kenya and Malaysia. Since President Joe Biden's inauguration, the Guantanamo population has decreased from 40 to 26, with over half now cleared for transfer.
