The United States on Tuesday said that Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) committed genocide, announcing sanctions against RSF leader Mohammad Hamdan Daglo, known as Hemedti. Secretary of State Antony Blinken cited the RSF’s systematic murder of men and boys and targeted sexual violence against women and girls of specific ethnic groups. "The United States is committed to holding those responsible accountable," Blinken stated, emphasizing the U.S. stance against the atrocities committed by the RSF in Sudan.
