US supports UN effort to resolve Libya Central Bank dispute

The US on Tuesday backed UN efforts to mediate between Libya's rival administrations over central bank management without disrupting vital oil revenues. The US embassy said the UN Support Mission in Libya's initiative "offers a path forward to resolve the crisis" after the eastern administration announced the suspension of operations at all oil fields and export terminals under its control. In a statement late Monday, UNSMIL said it was "convening an emergency meeting for all parties involved" in the crisis.
