Maghreb Insider aims to correct verified factual errors and provide readers with a practical way to challenge published information.
A correction request is reviewed to determine whether published information is inaccurate, requires additional context, has been overtaken by material new information or remains supported by the available evidence.
Correction, Clarification or Update
Correction
A correction addresses a confirmed factual error that materially affects the accuracy of published content. The purpose is to replace or amend inaccurate information rather than simply change wording because a subject disagrees with the article.
Clarification
A clarification may be added where the original wording is not necessarily false but requires additional precision or context so that readers are less likely to misunderstand the intended meaning.
Update
An update adds material new information that became available after publication. An update does not automatically mean that the earlier version contained an error.
Minor Edits
Minor spelling, grammar, formatting, broken-link or readability changes may be made without a separate correction note when they do not materially change the meaning.
How to Report an Error
Send correction requests to corrections@maghrebinsider.com.
Please include:
- The article URL;
- The specific statement or detail you believe is incorrect;
- An explanation of the problem;
- A reliable source, document or other supporting evidence where available;
- Contact details if follow-up is needed.
How Requests Are Reviewed
Correction requests are evaluated against available evidence. A disagreement with analysis, framing or an editorial conclusion does not automatically establish a factual error.
The review focuses on what the article actually states, the evidence supporting or challenging that statement, and whether additional context changes the accuracy of the published material.
Advertisers, partners, political actors and other interested parties do not receive special control over corrections.
Removal Requests
Maghreb Insider does not normally remove accurate reporting simply because the subject considers it unfavorable. Removal or substantial alteration may be considered where there is a compelling editorial, accuracy, safety or other legitimate reason.
Accountability
Our goal is not to claim that errors never occur. It is to review credible evidence and correct material factual mistakes when they are established.
The same principle applies regardless of whether a correction request comes from a reader, source, company, public institution or another interested party.
