Bank NXT plans to move ATM and debit card processing to Network International's platform. The switch comes as digital payments grow rapidly in Egypt, but the bank has not reported a completion date.

By the end of the second quarter of 2026, about 22 million customers had registered on Egypt's Instant Payment Network.

Those customers had made approximately 1.47 billion transactions worth around EGP 4.33 trillion, according to figures presented by Central Bank of Egypt Governor Hassan Abdalla and reported CBE figures.

Against that backdrop, Bank NXT announced on 11 October 2026 that it had extended its collaboration with Network International. The bank plans to transfer its ATM and debit card processing to Network's platform. The announcement describes an infrastructure commitment; it does not report completed operational changes.

The expanded agreement would put Bank NXT's ATM and debit card portfolio on Network International's end-to-end processing platform. Bank NXT says the change should improve operational efficiency and strengthen security. It also expects faster service launches and a more seamless digital banking experience for customers. Those are projected benefits, not results the bank has demonstrated.

Cards remain a significant part of Egypt's payments market alongside instant transfers. The domestic Meeza scheme had issued more than 43.5 million cards by June 2025, a measure of the card environment in which Bank NXT operates, as Ahram Online reported. The IPN and Meeza figures cover different payment channels and periods.

Network International says it serves banks and fintech companies in more than 50 countries across the Middle East and Africa. Its customer base also includes telecommunications operators. The company says it works with merchants and government entities. That footprint may give the partnership scale, but customer impact will depend on how the migration runs and how the platform performs in Bank NXT's operations.

Separately, Bank NXT says it plans to expand its ATM network to cover key locations.

The announcement gave no target number of new machines or rollout date.
