Oshkosh Defense says Morocco ordered 50 HET A1 heavy equipment transporters and 50 MN573 trailers through distributor Optimum Vehicle Logistics. The sale includes spare parts, services and training, and the first trucks are already in service.

On October 5, 2026, Oshkosh Defense said the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces had placed a follow-on order for 50 Heavy Equipment Transporter A1 (HET A1) tractors and 50 heavy-duty MN573 trailers. The package also includes spare parts, service support and training. Oshkosh distributed the announcement through its release.

The deal is a Direct Commercial Sale. Milwaukee-based Optimum Vehicle Logistics, LLC, acted as the buyer and is Oshkosh Defense's exclusive Moroccan distributor. The announcement does not identify the transaction as a publicly announced Foreign Military Sales case. The terms remain undisclosed. Oshkosh has not given the second order's value or delivery timetable.

Oshkosh says the first batch of HET A1 trucks has already been delivered and is in service with Moroccan forces. The vehicles can carry heavy platforms such as main battle tanks, recovery vehicles and self-propelled artillery. They help move and sustain armored equipment.

Dutch company Broshuis B.V. developed and manufactures the MN573 trailers. The package also covers parts, servicing and training, but Oshkosh has not said how long support will last or what level of maintenance it includes. That detail is missing.

Oshkosh Director of Key Programs Pat Williams said the work with Optimum Vehicle Logistics supports Morocco's modernization goals through the supply of heavy tactical wheeled vehicles. That is the company's description of the deal, not an independently stated assessment by the Moroccan government. Oshkosh gave no details on local industrial participation, technology transfer or domestic production.

Morocco's official news agency, MAP, is a separate channel for public-sector reporting. This procurement announcement comes from Oshkosh and does not cite a Moroccan ministry statement or budget allocation. The UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) covers regional economic development, but broader trade and infrastructure trends cannot establish the purpose of a specific military purchase. The available details point to a practical aim: expanding heavy-equipment transport capacity. They do not establish a wider shift in Maghreb defence policy.

Optimum Vehicle Logistics is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Broshuis makes trailers for military and civilian sectors. Separately, DHL's logistics assessment lists Morocco among its priority markets for global trade. That commercial context is separate from the defence contract. It does not show that the order will create wider economic or industrial spillovers.

Morocco is ordering a second group of heavy transporters and adding support and training for their operation. The limits are clear. The contract amount, delivery schedule and any local-content provisions have not been disclosed. On its own, the order is not evidence of a broader regional defence realignment.
