Air Algérie has launched reservations for new routes from Algiers to Berlin, Conakry, Brazzaville, and Lagos/Abuja, expanding its international network and reinforcing Algiers as a regional hub between Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.
Air Algérie has announced the opening of reservations for four new international routes departing from Algiers, marking a significant step in the airline's ongoing international expansion strategy. The new destinations-Berlin, Conakry, Brazzaville, and a combined Lagos/Abuja service-are scheduled to launch between September and October 2026.
This move is part of Air Algérie's broader plan to strengthen the role of Algiers' Houari Boumediene International Airport as a key aviation hub connecting Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. The company aims to address growing demand from both the Algerian diaspora and business travelers, while supporting increased economic exchanges between Algeria, Europe, and Africa.
Details of the New Routes
The first of the new routes, Algiers-Berlin, is set to commence on 14 September 2026, with a weekly flight operated by either a Boeing 737-800 or Boeing 737 MAX, depending on operational requirements. Scheduled departure from Algiers is at 14:00, arriving in Berlin at 18:00, with the return flight leaving Berlin at 19:00 and landing in Algiers at 21:00.
Air Algérie will also expand its sub-Saharan African network with three additional routes. The Algiers-Conakry service in Guinea will begin on 25 October 2026, offering three weekly flights using a Boeing 737 MAX 9. The following day, 26 October 2026, will see the launch of the Algiers-Brazzaville route in the Republic of the Congo, also with three weekly flights on a Boeing 737 MAX 9. On the same day, a new triangular route connecting Algiers, Lagos, and Abuja in Nigeria will be introduced.
Strategic Implications and Booking Information
These new connections are designed to reinforce Air Algérie's presence in the African market and expand travel options between Algiers and several major cities across the continent. The expansion is expected to facilitate both personal and business travel, as well as support broader economic integration between Algeria and its regional partners.
Tickets for all four routes are now available through Air Algérie's official website, mobile app, physical agencies in Algeria and abroad, as well as accredited travel agencies and global reservation systems. The airline's deployment of new-generation aircraft on these routes reflects its commitment to modernizing its fleet and improving service quality.
With this expansion, Air Algérie continues to position Algiers as a strategic aviation gateway, enhancing connectivity between North Africa, Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa. The next key milestone will be the operational launch of these routes in late 2026.
