Mauritania's Ministry of Higher Education has published the orientation results for 2026 baccalaureate graduates, allocating students to 160 higher education programmes, including 29 abroad. The process used the 'Jadara' system to ensure transparency.

The Mauritanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has released the results of university placements for students who passed the first session of the 2026 national baccalaureate. A total of 160 higher education options were made available, with 131 programmes offered domestically and 29 abroad.

According to the ministry, the orientation process was conducted through the 'Jadara' system, which officials described as both fair and transparent. The dedicated digital platform allows students to view the number of candidates assigned to each programme, as well as the ranking of the highest and lowest scoring students admitted to each field.

Admission Thresholds and International Baccalaureate Holders

The ministry clarified that the admission threshold for each programme is determined by the ranking of the last student placed in courses that have reached their maximum capacity. Holders of foreign baccalaureate diplomas were also included in the orientation process, with placements aligned to their academic backgrounds.

Second Session and Reorientation Opportunities

The ministry announced that the digital platform will reopen on Sunday, 23 August, for graduates of the second session of the baccalaureate, as well as for last year's graduates seeking to change their orientation. Additionally, students from the first session who did not participate in the initial placement phase will have a second opportunity to apply during this period.

This annual orientation process is a key step in Mauritania's higher education system, shaping access to university programmes both within the country and abroad.
